Twins Fall In Motor City

(Minnesota News Network- Detroit, MI) — Both teams hit three home runs, but the Detroit Tigers hit two of their long balls with runners on base and beat the Minnesota Twins last night 6-3. Kerry Carpenter broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth, while Wenceel Perez and Dillon Dingler also went deep. Casey Mize earned his tenth win after holding the Twins to three runs on four hits in six innings. The Tigers are in first place in the A-L Central at 66-48. Ryan Jeffers, Trevor Larnach, and Matt Wallner all homered with the bases empty in the losing effort for Minnesota. The Twins have dropped five of six and sit at 52-60 on the season. The same two teams play tonight at 5:40 P-M. In other team news, the Twins claimed pitcher Thomas Hatch off of waivers from the Kansas City Royals.
