Agralite Electric Cooperative is seeking a Conditional Use Permit to construct a new substation

Agralite Electric Cooperative is seeking a Conditional Use Permit to construct a new substation in Stevens County to support the growing demand for electricity in Agralite’s service territory west and south of Morris. These loads include the new Stevens Milk facility, existing Riverview Farms complex, the Fresha carrot facility, and other existing loads on the line. Upon completion, about 1.5 MW of existing load and 10 megawatts of new load will be supported by this substation, slated to be built in Darnen Township on 470th Avenue in Morris.
A Stevens County Planning Commission meeting to discuss the permit is slated for 7 p.m. Monday, September 8 at the Stevens County Courthouse.
