Vikings get ready for Draft
(Eagan, MN) — The 2024 N-F-L Draft begins tomorrow and there are many Minnesota Vikings fans who are hoping it begins a new era of football for their team. With the departure of quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Vikings have a void at quarterback and a chance to potentially select their Q-B of the future in tomorrow night’s first round. Minnesota currently holds the 11th and 23rd overall picks and could use those slots as trade bait to move up to choose a new promising young signal-caller. Or, they could wait to see if a quarterback of their liking drops to one of those picks. But, it seems certain the team will pick a Q-B at some point. The Vikes signed free agent Sam Darnold in the off-season and he could begin the season as a starter, while a rookie gets his feet wet. Head coach Kevin O’Connell has spoken openly about studying the top quarterback in this year’s draft and what type of data he is looking for in figuring out how to proceed. General manager Kwesi Odofo-Mensah will work with O’Connell in making the decisions.
