FATAL SHOOTING IN RURAL ALDEN

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office says a man is dead following a shooting in rural Alden Wednesday evening.  Authorities responded to the report of a disturbance at 5:12 pm and found a 45-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the chest.  The man was taken to Alden where he was stabilized before being transported by Mayo Air to Rochester where he died of his injuries.  Another man and a woman who also live at the home were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Authorities say a man was detained for questioning but was released.  Four adults involved are related and there is no ongoing threat to the public.  Names have not been released yet.
