Homecoming Week in Morris
This weekend is Homecoming at the University of Minnesota Morris. There will be a Pep Fest at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Cougar Sports Center gym, followed at 8 p.m. by the Annual Residence Halls Tug at Big Cat Stadium.
On Friday, there will be an Alumni and Students Networking Event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall, which will include a complimentary lunch for students and alumni. The Distinguished Alumni Award Banquet will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by 6:30 p.m. dinner, also in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall. Tickets for the banquet are available online. The HomeKUMMing Concert will begin at 8:30 p.m. in Edson Auditorium, with doors opening at 8 p.m.. Tickets are free for students, $5 for general admission available at the door.
Saturday’s events include a 10 a.m. Cougar Athletics Hall of Fame Brunch in Oyate Hall, which is a ticketed event; an 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pop-Up Medieval Manuscript Museum and Mini Briggs Library Book Sale outside the Bookstore in the Science Building; a 2 p.m. new sculpture unveiling titled “Transference” honoring Lucy Imholte, on the east side of the Imholte Building; and the 6 p.m. football game with the Cougars hosting Martin Luther College at Big Cat Stadium, preceded by tailgating and some axe throwing from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
