Fatal Renville Co Crash

A driver died and his passenger was seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Renville County Saturday night.

The Sheriff’s Office says 89-year-old Donald Deleeuw of Cosmos died at the scene.

Authorities say he was driving a minivan southbound on Meeker County Rd 1, failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Meeker-Renville Line Rd, entered the ditch and the vehicle overturned.

His passenger, 90-year-old Burnice Deleeuw of Cosmos was taken to Hutchinson Health for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash happened just after 8:30pm.
