Rob was born May 8, 1957, in Morris, Minnesota, the third of six children born to Richard and Ione (Peterson) Eul. A baptized and confirmed Catholic, Rob was an adventurous child who loved the outdoors and being free to explore the fields, gravel roads, and open skies around Morris. He grew up in a lively household where faith, hard work, and a little mischief shaped strong bonds that lasted a lifetime. He graduated from Morris High School in 1975. During high school, he played trombone in the band, largely to make his mother proud. Throughout his high school and post-high school years, alongside his three brothers, Mike, Tim, and Tom, Rob embraced the free spirit of the age, enjoying rock and roll music and letting his long, curly hair blow, windows down, in his beloved 1967 Plymouth ‘Cuda. Even during all of this, he never strayed too far from the Lord, who remained the steady foundation beneath his life.

Rob grew tall and developed into a wonderful man and first-class citizen, with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of pride in his community. Eul’s Hardware Hank, the family business that shaped nearly all of Rob’s professional life, was a hub of the community where he formed lasting friendships and connections with the people of Morris and the surrounding area. The store, founded by his grandparents John and Mary, was carried forward by his parents, Richard “Rit” and Ione. In 2010, along with his sister Kathy, Rob became a third-generation owner of the beloved family store. Staffed over the years by family and siblings Cindy, Mike, Tom, and Tim, along with close family friends, the store became much more than a place of business. It was a gathering place and a source of countless family memories.

Service came naturally to Rob. He was proud to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter, dedicating 26 years to the Morris Fire Department. Day or night, he never hesitated when help was needed. When the pager sounded, he was already on his way.

Rob’s life was filled with family, love, faith, and friendship. He met his wife, Rebecca, at the hardware store when she was a customer; their friendship blossomed into more, and on January 8, 2022, they were married at Assumption Catholic Church. They shared years marked by companionship, faith, and many meaningful moments. His daughter, Leah, held a permanent place in his heart, and he was deeply proud to be her father.

Rob truly cherished his family and frequently joined his brothers, sisters, and their families for countless holidays and impromptu gatherings. His interests almost always involved the company of others, whether at Sunday suppers, around a campfire, or tending bonfires far too large for a firefighter to condone. He was adored by many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “Unk,” a name earned through his steady presence in their lives. Through hunting trips, barbecues, stories, and the occasional harmless shenanigans, Rob made sure they felt known and loved.

Rob will be deeply missed by his family and the community he served so faithfully. Those who knew him understood how deeply grateful he was for his life, his faith, and the people around him. In true Rob fashion, he would simply say, “Thank you kindly.”

He is survived by his wife: Rebecca Eul of Morris, MN; his daughter: Leah (Wente); siblings: Tim Eul of Morris, MN, Kathy (Joe) Bouta of Benson, MN, Tom Eul of Morris, MN, and Cindy (Mike) Moser of Willmar, MN; sister-in-law: Giuliana Eul of Grant, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Ione Eul; his brother: Mike Eul; and other beloved relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Rob’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Cura Hospice or a Hospice provider of your choice, the Morris Fire Department, or any charity of choice.

Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
