BROWN COUNTY LAUNCHING NEW ERA OF STATEWIDE HEALTH IMPROVEMENT PARTNERSHIP
For the first time on its own, Brown County Public Health is going to carry out a variety of projects to improve chronic disease within the county. In the past, the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership provided funding to Brown County, who had partnered with Nicollet, Le Sueur and Waseca Counties to support healthy living initiatives in the region. One example Brand mentioned is more health concession options for Turner Gymnastics during tournaments and open gym times. Statewide Health Improvement Partnership has existed since 2008 when Minnesota passed a health reform law to invest in preventing chronic disease. Funding from SHIP will last through October 2030.
