St. Thomas Womens BB ends home season with a win

(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The St. Thomas women’s basketball team closed out the home portion of their season with a 73-71 win over Kansas City last night. Tommies sophomore forward Alyssa Sand of Albany paced the team with 23 points, while sophomore guard Mikayla Werner of Hortonville, Wisconsin added 22 points. St. Thomas improved to 15-14 overall and 8-7 in the Summit League. The visiting Roos are now 7-22 overall and 4-12 in the league. The Tommies visit Oral Roberts on Saturday at 2 P-M. Meanwhile, the St. Thomas men’s basketball team hosts North Dakota State tonight at 8 P-M at the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena in St. Paul.
