MAPLETON MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON

A Mapleton man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the stabbing death of his father in June.  Blue Earth County Prosecutors 48-year-old Troy Almhjeld was sentenced Monday for the first-degree murder of 71-year-old Lars Almhjeld.  Troy was arrested after he crashed his father’s vehicle near a Mankato golf course and then fleeing the scene.
