Reminder To Check Safety Equipment
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are reminding boaters to check their safety equipment before heading onto the water.
Conservation Officer Coby Fontes in Warroad reports enforcement action was taken “in a situation where a boat had two inflatable life jackets for three people, however, neither of the life jackets were armed.” Fontes says “this is a good time of year to inspect all safety equipment, including inflatable life jackets, to ensure that they are all in good working order.” He says other enforcement action was taken for no angling license in possession.
Meanwhile, Conservation Officer Nicholas Prachar in Baudette reports increased success for sturgeon anglers. He says enforcement action was taken for no angling license in possession and operating an ATV on a state highway.
Conservation Officer Jeremy Woinarowicz in Thief River Falls says enforcement action was taken for angling without a valid license and taking bass in a closed season.
