DEATH OF NEW ULM MAN BEING INVESTIGATED

Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after the death of a New Ulm man near New Ulm Monday morning.  Deputies received a call from a passerby about a person sitting in a vehicle that appeared to need assistance.  The vehicle was parked at Spring Wayside Park along  Highway 14 and authorities from the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, Courtland Fire Department and state patrol responded and found one male occupant in the locked vehicle dead of a gunshot wound.  A firearm was discovered inside the vehicle.  Authorities identified the man as 53-year-old Justin Lee Nelson of New Ulm.  The investigation is ongoing pending autopsy results and no other information has been released at this time.
