First day of Free Agency for Vikings

(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Vikings were active today in the N-F-L’s legal tampering period leading into free agency on Wednesday. They re-signed linebacker Eric Wilson to a 3-year deal worth up to $22.5 million (with $12.5 million guaranteed) preventing him from hitting the open market. They also signed former Steelers cornerback James Pierre to a 2-year contract for $8.5 million and tendered contract to both linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. and defensive lineman Jalen Redmond. On the flip side, the Vikings will say goodbye to wide receiver Jalen Nailor and punter Ryan Wright. Nailor signed a 3-year, $35 million contract with the Raiders and Wright is reportedly heading to the Saints.
