Murder Trial On Hold For Watkins Man Accused of Killing His Co-Worker

(Learfield News/Buffalo, MN) — The murder trial of a Watkins man accused of killing his co-worker is on indefinite hold after a second mental competency evaluation determined he is unable to understand the court proceedings.

It’s the second time a judge has ruled that 40-year-old David Bruce Delong is not competent to stand trial.

Delong is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and second-degree intentional murder in the death of his co-worker, Amber Czech of Hutchinson.

Authorities say she was killed after being bludgeoned while at work.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office was called to Advanced Process Technologies in Cokato on the morning of November 11.

Investigators say Czech was found at her workstation with significant head trauma.
