Wild let lead slip, lose in Shootout
(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Despite goals by Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov the Minnesota Wild suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers last night at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul. Boldy scored his 37th of the season and Kaprizov added his 38th – both in the second period – to give Minnesota their first lead of the game. But the Flyers responded with a shorthanded goal by Owen Tippett in the third period to tie the game at 2-2 and eventually won when Travis Konecny scored the only shootout goal. The Wild are 1-0-1 to open the four game homestand which continues this weekend with a pair of 5 P-M starts on Saturday against the Rangers and Sunday against the Maple Leafs.
