Wild Fall To Blackhawks

The Wild couldn’t overcome the loss of their superstar as they fell to the Blackhawks 2-1 on Thursday night at Grand Casino Arena. Nico Sturm supplied the only goal for Minnesota but could never pull even despite a lengthy 5-on-3 powerplay in the third period that resulted in the Wild hitting the pipe twice but zero goals to show for it. Connor Bedard ended up with the eventual game winner as he created a turnover at the Minnesota blueline and finished on the backhand for his 28th goal of the season. Jesper Wallstedt suffered the loss on 24 saves. The Wild were without Kirill Kaprizov who missed his first game of the season with a lower body injury. Head coach John Hynes on the injury to Kaprizov.

They were also without Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Foligno. The Wild lost to Chicago for the first time at home in regulation since 2017 and saw their 19 game point streak against the Hawks also come to an end. The Wild have lost four straight at home and have dropped four of their last five overall. Saturday then host the Stars at 3 P-M.
