Torgelson Running in MN House District 16A

OLIVIA — Former Renville County Attorney David Torgelson of Olivia announced he is running as the DFL-endorsed candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives 16A seat.

The West Central Tribune reports Torgelson received the party endorsement on March 21 in Willmar.

Torgelson said in an interview that his campaign will focus on affordability for district residents, his ability as a moderate in the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party to work across party lines, and on his goal to help bridge the urban and rural gap in the state.

House District 16A is currently represented by first-term incumbent Scott Van Binsbergen, R-Montevideo, who succeeded Dean Urdahl following his retirement from state office.

District 16A includes Chippewa and Renville counties and portions of Meeker and Kandiyohi counties.
