CONGRESSWOMAN CRAIG, HOUSE AG COMMITTEE URGE USDA TO EASE FERTILIZER PRICES
Ranking Democrat Angie Craig and members of the House Ag Committee are urging the USDA to take immediate action to stabilize fertilizer prices. In a letter to Secretary Brooke Rollins, they blame the war in Iran and effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz for severe global supply disruptions. They lawmakers write “blocked shipments of urea an ammonia, port backlogs and shutdowns at regional production facilities are cascading into higher input costs for U.S farmers as planting season gets closer.
