Kaprizov leads Wild to win
(Detroit, MI/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota star forward Kirill Kaprizov completed his hat trick with 1:51 left in regulation to lift the Wild to a 5-4 win on Easter Sunday over the Red Wings. Kaprizov scored his first two goals as part of a four goal, second period outburst to build up a 4-1 lead. But the Wings countered with three of their own in the third period to even the score a 4-4. Patrick Kane tied the game with his 15th of the season and 26th all time against the Wild, but also took a costly penalty shortly afterwards which led to Kaprizov’s seventh game winning goal of the season. Kaprizov’s 41st, 42nd and 43rd goals of the season culminate in his sixth career hat trick in the regular season. Minnesota has won three straight and the 100 points are just two back of the Stars for second place in the Central Division, which comes with home ice in their first-round match up. Filip Gustavsson made 18 saves in the victory.
