Gobert wins DPOY, as Wolves prepare for Game 3
(Minneapolis, MN) — Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert tied a league record when he became just the third player in N-B-A history to win four Defensive Player of the Year awards yesterday. His fourth win matches the total for Hall of Fame centers Ben Wallace and Dikembe Mutombo. Gobert led the voting with 72 first-place votes. He was followed by San Antonio Spurs rookie superstar Victor Wembanyama, who had 19 first-place votes. Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo rounded out the top three.
