SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK
It’s Severe Weather Awareness week and there will be daily focuses on weather alerts, severe storms, flooding, tornadoes and extreme heat. Brown County Sheriff Jason Seidl says to make sure you know the difference between a watch and a warning. He says a watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather. A warning means severe weather has been spotted by trained spotters or detected on radar. Seidl says when the sirens go off, it’s time to take action…
The statewide tornado drills will take place Thursday at 1:45 and 6:45 pm when outdoor warning sirens and NOAA weather radios will sound to simulate a tornado warning and give you an opportunity to review your emergency plan, practice it and make sure you have a preparedness kit ready.
