Twins sweep series from Tigers

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Twins completed a four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers at Target Field with a 3-1 win in a matinee game yesterday. Brooks Lee hit a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth to put Minnesota up for good, while Josh Bell homered in the victory. Garrett Acton earned his first Major League win in relief, while Eric Orze registered his first save of the season. The 7-6 Twins moved over the .500 mark for the first time since last June. Detroit dipped to 4-9. Minnesota right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson starts for Minnesota against the Blue Jays tonight to start a three-game weekend series in Canada.
