Twins stay red hot, Blast Jays

(Toronto, ON/Minnesota News Network) — Twins third baseman Tristan Gray belted a three-run home run off Toronto ace Max Scherzer in the second inning and Minnesota never looked back in an 8-2 win over Toronto yesterday in Canada. Twins first baseman Kody Clemens added a solo homer in the third inning, while shortstop Brooks Lee cracked a two-run double to cap off a five-run third. Right-hander Taj Bradley moved to 3-0 in earning the win. He worked five innings on five-hit, one-run baseball. He struck out seven but walked four. Andrew Morris made his Major League debut and worked three innings of one-run ball in relief. The Twins are now tied with Cleveland for first place in the American League Central Division. Minnesota’s 9-7 record is tied for the best mark in the A-L. The Twins open a six-game home stand with a game tonight against the Boston Red Sox at 6:40 P-M at Target Field.
