Darlene Elmquist, age 79 of Barrett, Minnesota, passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Barrett Care Center.

Visitation for Darlene Elmquist will be Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, MN.

Memorial services for Darlene Elmquist will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, MN.

Interment will be in Lands Cemetery in Hoffman, MN.

Darlene Marie Elmquist was born February 23, 1946, in Kensington, Minnesota to Alfred and Betsy (Mithun) Elmquist. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Darlene attended the Hoffman Public School. After her schooling she worked a couple jobs before becoming a caretaker for her parents. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking, watching television and always enjoyed seeing the kids and family.

Survived by three sisters: Ione Haggberg of Maple Grove, MN, Lois (Frank) Olson of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mavis (Curt) Haagenson of Battle Lake, MN; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Orlin, Donald, James, Gerald Elmquist; and sisters: Gladys Chayer, Evelyn Hanson, and Shirley Lohmeyer.

Arrangements are with the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman, MN.
