Gopher Gymnastics advances to Final Four
(Fort Worth, TX/Learfield News) — The University of Minnesota women’s gymnastics team has advanced to the N-C-A-A Final Four for the first in program history after finishing second in last night’s evening session at the N-C-A-A Championship meet. Senior Brooklyn Rowray became only the second Gopher to ever win an individual N-C-A-A championship when she recorded the top score on the balance beam at 9.9625. The Gophers finished strong on the uneven bars to inch ahead of U-C-L-A in the night’s final rotation. The Bruins struggled on the vault in that final stage, helping push Minnesota into tomorrow’s Final Four, which starts at 3 P-M and featured top-ranked Oklahoma, second-ranked L-S-U, and number-three Florida. Tomorrow’s festivities will be televised nationally on A-B-C. The Gophers have locked up their highest finish in program history no matter what happens tomorrow. Minnesota’s previous best performance was sixth in the nation in 2022.
