Twins Will Try to Salvage Final Game of Series
Minnesota starter Taj Bradley allowed two earned runs in six innings and struck out five. Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott allowed six hits and four runs, three earned, in 4 2/3 innings after allowing 13 earned runs in 14 innings over his prior three outings.
The Twins jumped to an early lead when Ryan Jeffers tripled and drove in two runs in the first inning. Minnesota held a 4-2 lead to start the eighth inning, only to see the Reds tie the game in the eighth and score the go ahead run in the ninth.
Twins righty Bailey Ober (2-0, 5.49) will face Cincinnati right handed pitcher Brady Singer (1-1, 5.60) this afternoon as Minnesota will try to avoid being swept.
