Twins swept at home by Cincy
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins lost a fourth straight game with a 7-4 setback to the Cincinnati Reds in ten innings yesterday at Target Field. The Twins blew a 3-1 ninth inning lead, falling behind 4-3 before tying it again at 4-4 to send it to a tenth inning. The visiting Reds scored three times in the top of the tenth to grab control of the game. Twins reliever Garret Acton took the loss in the tenth, while reliever Andrew Morris blew the save in the ninth. Minnesota starter Bailey Ober worked six-and-a-third-innings of three-hit, one-run ball and got a no-decision. Twins catcher Victor Caratini drove home two runs, while Josh Bell and Austin Martin each plated a run apiece. Byron Buxton scored twice. The 14-8 Reds are leading the N-L Central. Minnesota is now 11-11 on the season and have dipped into third-place in the A-L Central. The Twins will be off tonight and will open a three-game series at the Mets in New York tomorrow. The 7-15 Mets have dropped 11 straight games dating back to April 8th. Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:10 P-M.
