Grant County Sheriff’s Office Called To A Threat In Herman, MN
From the Office of Jennifer Vipond the Grant County Sheriff, on Friday, April 24, 2026, around 8:36 p.m. received a report of threats of violence occurring within the City of Herman, Minnesota.
Responding deputies learned that the victim was able to leave the residence safely. The investigation indicated the involved individual was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and posed a risk of harm to themselves and others.
Deputies later located the suspect vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. During the incident the individual engaged in additional self-harm behaviors. Deputies were able to safely take the individual into custody. Less-lethal tools were deployed during the apprehension. The individual was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries sustained. The injuries were not the result of less-lethal tools used by the deputies.
Assisting agencies included Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas
County Sheriff’s Office, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, West Central Area
SWAT Team, Wheaton Ambulance, and the Herman Fire Department.
