Gophers Baseball Sweeps Northwestern
(Minneapolis, MN/Learfield News) — The Golden Gopher baseball team swept past Northwestern with a 7-2 win in Minneapolis yesterday, taking all three games in the Big Ten series. Minnesota catcher Weber Neels went 3-for-4 with a homer and drove home four runs. The Gophers improved to 26-17 overall and 8-13 in the Big Ten. The visiting Wildcats dipped to 16-24-and-1 overall and 5-16 in the league. Minnesota head coach Ty McDevitt won his 50th career game with yesterday’s victory. The Gophers will host St. Thomas in a non-conference game tomorrow night at 6 P-M at Siebert Field on the U of M campus.
