NAMES RELEASED IN FATAL MANKATO SHOOTING

Mankato authorities have identified those involved in a shooting that killed one and injured another.  Police were called just after 1:30 pm Sunday by someone who thought a person was shooting into a residence on Castle Pines Drive.  As they approached, officers thought they heard what they believed to be gunshots from inside.  Once they gained entry, they arrested 44-year-old Joseph David Bulfer of Fairmont.  One adult male identified as 52-year-old Joshua Robert Downey of Mankato was found dead in a b4edroom.  37-year-old Rosalyn Marie Rode of Mankato was found in a bathroom.  She was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato for treatment.  Numerous charges against Bulfer are being requested including second-degree murder.  The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, state patrol, Lake Crystal police, North Mankato police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension all assisted at the scene.
