Fatal accident near Goodridge

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office has released a report pertaining to the fatal motor vehicle accident on Friday evening near Goodridge.
The statement from Chief Deputy Scott Mekash reads:

On April 24, 2026, at approximately 5:58pm the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 180th St. NE and 280th Ave NE in rural Goodridge. Pennington County Deputies, Goodridge Fire Department, Goodridge First Responders, Minnesota State Patrol, Thief River Falls Sandford EMS, and Sanford AirMed responded to the scene.

As a result of the crash, the driver of vehicle 1, identified at 62-year-old Wade Hruby was injured. The passenger in vehicle 1, identified at 64-year-old Mary Beth Hruby was pronounced dead at the scene. The drive of vehicle 2, identified at 18-year-old Trustin Wiseth sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office. No further details will be released at this time.
