Loons eliminated from US Open Cup

(San Jose, CA/Learfield News) — The Minnesota United were eliminated from the U-S Open Cup with a 4-2 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes in the Round of 16 at PayPal Park last night in California. Tomas Chancalay scored in the losing effort, while the Loons also benefited from an own-goal. The United return to M-L-S play with a match against the Columbus Crew on Saturday.
