Investigation of Man Struck by Bullet in Willmar
Willmar Police are investigating after a man was reportedly struck by a bullet Thursday afternoon.
At about 12:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a weapons complaint in the 700 block of 1st Street South in Willmar.
Authorities say a man was about to enter a business on South 1st St. when he was struck by a small-caliber bullet. At this time, no gunshots were reported as heard in the area.
Officers interviewed the victim and witnesses and conducted a canvass of the area for evidence.
The victim was transported to CentraCare Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say it does not appear to be a targeted attack and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Willmar Police Department.
