1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured After Pedestrian Crash in Rockford

A woman is dead, and another was seriously injured after a juvenile driver hit them while they were walking in Rockford Sunday afternoon.

KSTP reports Wright County Deputies responded to the intersection of Ash Street and Elm Street around 1:53 p.m. on a report that two pedestrians had been struck by a car.

Authorities say a juvenile girl from Cologne was driving with her mother when her vehicle hit the two women, who were walking on the sidewalk.

One of the women was pinned under the vehicle and died at the scene. The other woman sustained “significant” injuries to her legs and was brought to North Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The driver and passenger were not injured.
