Meeker County Volunteers Recognized

At last week’s Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association Jail Programs and Services conference, two Meeker County volunteers were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Meeker County Jail.

Andrea Tjaden and David Hofstad were honored for their program, “Let’s Dig In,” which focuses on cognitive behavioral growth.

By helping inmates reshape their mindsets and thought processes, the program provides essential “tools” designed to improve decision-making and coping strategies upon release.

Both longtime jail volunteers, the two launched the initiative two years ago.

Sheriff Brian Cruze praised their dedication, stating he is proud of the passion and compassion they bring to their roles and the lasting positive impact they have had on many.
