CITY TO GET FUNDING FOR POTENTIAL CENTER STREET ROUNDABOUT
The New Ulm City Council is set to receive funding to cver 65% of costs conneced to safety improvements along Center Street. The improvements include roundabouts at Garden and Payne Streets. City engineer Joe Stadheim submitted a grant application for MnDOT for the Center Street Project which is being planned jointly with Brown County. Stadheim received a letter in April confirming the city would be awarded $4.32-million in federal funding. Project cost is $6.7-million. At this point, the project is scheduled to start in 2030.
