FATAL MCLEOD COUNTY CRASH

One person died in a crash involving a semi and a pickup truck in McLeod County Wednesday afternoon east of Glencoe.

The crash happened on Highway 212 at Dairy Avenue just after 2pm.  The State Patrol says the person that died, an 85-year-old Hutchinson woman, was a passenger in the pickup. Her name has not been released. The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Cynthia Schweiss of Hutchinson, was taken to HCMC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi, 23-year-old Mahmut Lacin of Centerville, Ohio, was taken to Glencoe Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
