Curtis Olson

Curtis Glenn Olson, son of the late Harvey and Arlet Olson, was born on May 7th, 1957 in King City CA. Curtis was raised and spent most of his years in Lake Bronson, MN. He was well travelled, exploring the West and Gulf Coasts, and overseas to Germany when he served in the United States Army. But no matter how far he went, or for how long- he always found his way back home to Lake Bronson.

Curtis was an avid lover of the outdoors, often found somewhere on the banks of Two Rivers, with a fire always built before a line was cast. He passed down his love for fishing, fire building, and camping to his many nieces and nephews.

His love for the outdoors went hand in hand with his love for animals. He raised two raccoons, Big Mouth and Pita, a lovebird named Chicken, as well as several cats throughout the years. But above all was his best friend, his beloved dog Oscar.

Curtis also loved music, most of his life he owned a guitar and listened to lot of Savoy Brown and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He loved playing alongside his father Harvey, and friends. He was happiest when strumming on someone’s deck, or near the fire.

Curtis passed away on April 21st, 2026, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 14 days.

He is survived by his siblings: Rita Larson, of Karlstad; Terry Olson, of Thief River Falls; Patti (Rick) Sele, of Lake Bronson; and Paul (Carol) Olson, of Callaway Nebraska; and special friend, Amy Norberg, of Lake Bronson; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Arlet Olson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2-4PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Collins Funeral Chapel in Karlstad.
