Local College teams in Super Regionals

(Adrian, MI/Learfield News) — The Bethany Lutheran baseball team opens N-C-A-A Division III Super Regional action with game one of a best-of-three series at Adrian College (MI). The 34-6 Vikings have won seven straight games and 20 of their past 21 contests. The host Bulldogs are 35-11 on the year. Game One starts at noon today, with Game Two slated for tomorrow at 11 A-M. If necessary, a Game Three would take place 45 minutes after tomorrow’s Game Two. All three games are slated for Nicolay Field in Adrian, Michigan. The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the D-III College Baseball World Series.

(Indianola, IA/Learfield News) — The St. Mary’s softball team lost its first game in yesterday’s N-C-A-A Division III Softball Super Regional to Simpson (IA) 8-3. The Cardinals dipped to 40-8 on the season and will now need to beat the host Storm today and tomorrow to advance to the D-III World Series. Simpson scored runs in each inning of yesterday’s victory. Simpson improved to 38-6 with the win yesterday. Game two is slated for today at 1 P-M in Indianola, Iowa.
