Lorraine Woolridge, age 89 of Morris, Minnesota passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at The Glenn Minnetonka in Minnetonka, MN.
Visitation for Lorraine Woolridge will be held Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. immediately followed by the Rosary.
Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chokio, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine Woolridge will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chokio, MN.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Morris, MN.
Lorraine Frances Sauter, daughter of William and Catherine (Heinen) Sauter was born December 28, 1936 in Synnes Township, Stevens County, Morris, Minnesota. She was the eleventh of twelve children. She attended rural schools, St. Mary’s School, Morris High School and graduated from Alberta High School in 1954. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. On August 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ronald Woolridge by Father Leo Leisen. The couple made their first home in Wahpeton, North Dakota where Ronald attended the Wahpeton State School of Science. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and moved to Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, Texas. The following year he re-enlisted in the United States Air Force and they moved to Ramstein, Germany; Clovis, New Mexico; Las Vegas, Nevada; Tokyo, Japan and Dayton, Ohio. When Ronald retired from the United States Air Force, in 1974, the family moved back to Morris. Six children were born to this union.
Lorraine worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Morris, Wahpeton North Dakota, and Austin Texas. Later, after moving back to Morris, Lorraine worked at the University of Minnesota Morris and then spent 25 years working for Morris State Bank (Bremer). She retired in July of 2001.
Lorraine enjoyed walking, biking, traveling, gardening, making her own greeting cards, playing dominos, words with friends, and scrabble. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the gatherings with her siblings and their families.
She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Lorraine is survived by her children: Richard (Pat) Woolridge of Pierre, South Dakota, Gail Wunsch (Peter) of Golden Valley, MN, Gregory Woolridge (Jeanie Harlan) of Piedmont, SD, Stephen (Sylvia) Woolridge of Phillips, Wisconsin, and Douglas Woolridge of Zimmerman, MN; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; siblings: Delores Koplin of Morris, MN, and Rosella Juergenson of Hutchinson, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one infant daughter: Mary JoAnn; her parents; sisters: Marie Meyer (Harold), Dorothy Meyer (Vernon), Ellie Logan (Sam), Catherine Logan, Irene Schuster (Richard), and Caroline Woolridge (Wally); three brothers: Ben Sauter (Irene), Joe Sauter, Willie Sauter (Marjorie); brothers-in-law: Jack Koplin, Perry Juergensen, and Kenny Woolridge; one sister-in-law, Corrine Flaten (Gordon).
Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
