Federal Court Struck Down Trump Administration’s Tax on H-1B Visas

Ellison joined a multistate lawsuit challenging the fee last December, arguing it created barriers for employers trying to fill critical positions. H-1B visas allow U.S. employers to hire highly skilled foreign workers in fields facing labor shortages, including health care, education, and research. Ellison says the ruling ensures the federal government cannot impose fees that conflict with laws passed by Congress.
