Elaine Grotjohn, age 91 of Morris, Minnesota, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026, at West Wind Village in Morris, MN.
Visitation for Elaine Grotjohn will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Memorial services for Elaine Grotjohn will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Burial will be in Aeneas Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kensington, MN.
Elaine Grotjohn was born on December 24, 1934, to Carl and Judith Hellberg in Stevens County, Minnesota. She was baptized at her family home on a farm in Swan Lake Twp. and was later confirmed at Bethel Church in Hoffman. Elaine attended District 34 School in Stevens County and later attended school in Hoffman.
On October 27, 1952 Elaine was united in marriage to Paul Grotjohn. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community. Elaine was actively involved with her children through 4-H and devoted many years of volunteer service to the Clothing Bank and Seed Savers Exchange, where she volunteered for 20 years.
Elaine had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and horses. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetable gardens, creating handmade greeting cards, and crafting. Family was the center of her life, and she especially treasured the years spent gathering with loved ones at the lake. Elaine loved bringing family and friends together and was happiest when surrounded by those she cared about.
She also enjoyed working as a product demonstrator, where she valued the opportunity to meet and visit with people. An enthusiastic traveler, Elaine especially enjoyed bus tours with friends and fondly remembered her travels through Canada, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Elaine will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, love of music, dedication to her family, and her ability to make others feel welcome.
Elaine is survived by her children: Teresa Drewes and Joseph (Julie) Grotjohn; and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Grotjohn; children: Karen, Ronald, Sheryl, and James; her parents: Carl and Judith Hellberg.
In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to Aeneas Cemetery.
