COMPREHENSIVE PLAN VS STRATEGIC PLAN

The city of New Ulm held an open house Wednesday night where people got a chance to see a copy of the comprehensive plan for New Ulm.  Residents had a chance to share ideas of what they feel should be in the comprehensive plan going forward.  The city is also working on a strategic plan.  Mayor Kathleen Backer explains that these are two different plans.

Information from the open house will go into a draft plan that will go to the Planning Commission by the end of the month.  It could go to the New Ulm City Council for approval by early June.  The comprehensive plan has not been updated since 2007.
