Bernard (Bernie) Roman Tupy
Bernard (Bernie) Roman Tupy, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2024, in Montgomery MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 11am with visitation from 9-11am all held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 206 Vine Avenue West, Montgomery MN. Following the service, Bernie will be laid to rest at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Lonsdale. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials are preferred. Reception to be held at The Rival on Main in Montgomery right after funeral.
Bernie was born on December 23, 1941, to Charles and Lillian (Malecha) Tupy. Bernie was raised in rural Lonsdale and was a graduate of Northfield High School, class of 1960 where he was selected Homecoming King his senior year. He also attended Dunwoody institute.
Bernie was an entrepreneur at heart, so after working for a concrete/masonry company in the Twin Cities, he started Tupy Construction, a concrete/masonry/excavating business, in 1972. He later introduced Bernie Tupy Trucking, which hauled sand and gravel in the metro area.
Away from work, he enjoyed fishing with his buddies, truck pulling and had a passion for racing, cars, trucks or anything automotive. (As long as it was a Dodge). In retirement, he enjoyed caring for his yard/gardening, going to car shows and truck pulls and spending time with his family and friends.
His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his wife Connie; his sons, Brian (Carol) Tupy, Shawn Tupy, and stepdaughter, Annette White; granddaughters, Erin and Taylor Tupy, and step-granddaughter, Anna Kochevar; siblings, Larry (Lorray) Tupy, Tom (Terri) Tupy, Kathy (Henry) Hentges, Marianne (Jim) Voracek, and Kenny (Mary) Tupy; former spouse, June Tupy; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents.
