HOT TOPICS LUNCH DISCUSSES GEORGE’S BALLROOM PROJECT

The New Ulm Chamber of Commerce held a Hot Topics lunch Wednesday and the topic was the George’s Ballroom project.  The Coldwell Banker Commercial (CBC) Fisher Group officials answered questions about the redevelopment project and additional input on the project.  The group has been gathering input from the public on the design and theme of the new building for the past several months.   Managing director Dain Fisher told the gathering that the new building would have around 85 apartment units built on four stories with underground parking.  It’s estimated the new building would cost around $20-million.  It will be about a 20-month timeline with demolition scheduled for late August or early September.  It was also learned that George’s Ballroom is only the beginning.  Projects could be developed further down the road on Minnesota Street over the next ten to fifteen years.
