Twins take series from Royals
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins got a bases-loaded triple from shortstop Carlos Correa to cap a four-run sixth inning and went on to beat the Kansas City Royals yesterday 7-6. Correa’s hit helped Minnesota rally from a 4-0 deficit after three-and-a-half-innings. Twins designated hitter Ryan Jeffers went deep twice in the victory, while outfielder Max Kepler drove home a key run in the sixth inning, as well. Caleb Thielbar earned his second win in relief, and Jhoan Duran picked up his ninth save. The Twins took three of four in the series, improving to 31-25 on the season.. Vinnie Pasquantino and M-J Melendez both hit homers in the losing effort, while Chris Stratton was charged with his third loss in relief. Kansas City has dropped four of its last five and sits at 35-23 this season. Minnesota opens a series at Houston tonight.
