Yankees sweep season series from Twins
(Bronx, NY) — The New York Yankees extended their winning streak to their last eight games after topping the Minnesota Twins 8-5 in their series finale from the Bronx last night. The Yankees won all six regular season encounters with the Twins. Luke Weaver earned the victory after pitching an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Clay Holmes secured his 18th save of the season after striking out one without allowing a run in the top of the ninth. Trent Grisham went one for three with a two-run homer and three R-B-I. New York is now 45-19. Minnesota dropped to 33-29, as Pablo Lopez was tagged with the loss after allowing seven runs on four hits and six walks over four innings of work. Carlos Correa went two-for-four with a pair of R-B-I. The Twins visit Pittsburgh tonight at 5:40 P-M.
