RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS FOR COTTONWOOD RIVER AT NEW ULM AND SPRINGFIELD

A River Flood warning has been issued for the Cottonwood River at New Ulm and the Cottonwood River above Springfield for this week.  AT 3 pm Monday, the flood stage for the Cottonwood at New Ulm was 8.9 feet.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday afternoon to a crest of 12 feet Wednesday.  It is forecast to remain above flood stage at least into Friday.  Flood stage on the Cottonwood River at New Ulm is 11 feet.  The Cottonwood River above Springfield was measured at 18.9 feet at 2:30 Monday afternoon.  The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Tuesday afternoon with a crest of 24.4 feet early Thursday morning and remain above flood stage through the week.  Flood stage for the Cottonwood above Springfield is 22 feet.
