Beverly Bergrud, age 90 of Wendell, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Sanford in Fargo, North Dakota.
Visitation for Beverly Bergrud will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wendell, MN.
Memorial services for Beverly Bergrud will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wendell, MN.
Beverly Mae Bergrud was born on August 5, 1933, on her family farm at McVille, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Clara (Opsahl) Burkland. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and graduated from McVille High School in 1951. She lost her mother when she was two years old and was raised by her dad.
On November 18, 1951, Bev married Ardell Bergrud at her home farm where she was born. They lived in various locations where Ardell was elevator manager and grain buyer. They lived in Wendell for thirty-nine years before moving to Elbow Lake in 2011.
Bev was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in high school. She worked at Dakota Bake & Serve and State Hospital in Jamestown, ND.
Bev loved to cook and bake and enjoyed her many flower beds. She enjoyed bowling, scrabble, decorating, playing bingo and especially shopping for her grandchildren. She did daycare for twenty years.
Bev is survived by three children: Candy Johnson of Elbow Lake, MN, Vaughn Bergrud of Fargo, ND, and Denise Belling of Fargo, ND; son-in-law: Mark Klinkhammer of Alexandria, MN; five grandchildren: Josh Dahlstrom, Amber (Jake) Koehn, Chelsey (A.J.) Ray, Alicia Klinkhammer, and Samantha Bergrud; seven great-grandchildren: Mason, Avany, Malakai, Penelope, Theodore, Aspen, and Oliver; two special friends: Erin & Ben; sister: Corrine Molmen of McVille, and numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter & Clara Burkland; husband: Ardell; daughter: Teresa Klinkhammer; brothers: Gordon & Sidney; sister: Phyllis Mannie; and son-in-law: Richard Belling.
Arrangements are with Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Elbow Lake, MN.
