Twins walk off Rays in opener

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are on a six-game winning streak following a 7-6 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Target Field. The Twins overcame an early four-run deficit thanks to back-to-back R-B-I doubles by Willi Castro and Trevor Larnach in the fourth inning. Carlos Santana hit a pinch-hit walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give Minnesota the win. Max Kepler homered in the victory, while Jhoan Duran earned his third win. The Twins improved to 41-32 and have moved into second-place in the A-L Central, just four-and-a-half-games behind first-place Cleveland.. Joe Ryan starts for Minnesota against the Rays tonight. In other team news, the Twins place Alex Kirilloff on the injured list yesterday.
